Paediatric Health-Tech Startup Primerry Raises Rs 7.1 Cr In Pre-Seed Round - BW Disrupt

Paediatric health-tech startup Primerry has raised Rs 7.1 crore, approximately USD 760,000, in a pre-seed funding round as it looks to expand its product portfolio and distribution across India.

The round saw participation from investors including Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi, along with angel investors Mohit Sadaani, Hitesh Dhingra, Ajay Mehra and Samir Palod, as well as select family offices.

Founded by Rushabh Nandu and Dr Nihar Parekh, Primerry is developing everyday healthcare products for children aged between two and 14 years. The company focuses on formulations and delivery formats designed around factors such as taste and ease of use, alongside clinical considerations.

Primerry will use the fresh capital to strengthen its research and development pipeline, expand its team, build clinical expertise and increase distribution across key Indian markets.

The company plans to launch its full portfolio of eight stock-keeping units in phases. The products are priced between Rs 499 and Rs 1,499 and will initially be available through Primerry’s direct-to-consumer platform. The company plans to expand to quick-commerce platforms within the first year.

Primerry has also introduced PocDoc, a customisable carry case for its healthcare products. It plans to build an offline distribution network through pharmacies, paediatric clinics and mother-and-baby speciality stores, beginning with Tier 1 cities and metros.

According to Primerry, its product portfolio is focused on everyday health needs including growth, immunity, gut health, coughs and colds.

Dr Nihar Parekh, Co-Founder, Primerry, said the company identified gaps in the way everyday healthcare needs of children are addressed through his experience in paediatric practice. He said Primerry is working on formulations and delivery formats aimed at improving ease of use while maintaining a focus on clinical credibility.

Rushabh Nandu, Co-Founder, Primerry, said the company’s conversations with parents highlighted demand for non-medicated healthcare products. He added that Primerry aims to combine formulation and sourcing standards with products that address children’s needs while offering convenience to parents.

Primerry plans to expand its presence across both online and offline channels as it scales its product portfolio and distribution network in India.
