The second edition of the Fintech Premier League (FPL), organised by Startup Policy Forum (SPF) and Signzy, has brought the fintech community back to the cricket field. The tournament is being held across Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, featuring 38 teams representing 34 organisations and more than 570 players across 82 matches.
FPL is an eight-a-side tennis-ball box-cricket tournament that brings together fintech companies, financial institutions and technology players through sport. Following the response to its first season, the tournament has expanded to three major fintech hubs this year.
The participating teams represent various segments of the financial services industry. Banks including Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, HSBC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Yes Bank are participating alongside lending and credit companies such as Axis Finance, Flexiloans, Kissht, Indifi, Lendingplate and Jio Credit.
The tournament also features companies from the payments and fintech infrastructure sectors, including PayU, NPCI, Benow and Mosambee. Other participants include Signzy, Equifax, Protean, Xflow, Stable Money, Zerodha and ZET, representing areas such as identity, financial infrastructure, wealth management and digital financial services.
Shweta Rajpal Kohli, President and CEO, Startup Policy Forum said, “Fintech is a closely connected industry, but most interactions between companies happen around business, policy and industry conversations. The Fintech Premier League (FPL) creates a different setting for people across the ecosystem to meet and compete. The response to the first season demonstrated the value of creating such a space for the community, and the second edition builds on that momentum with participation from companies across the fintech ecosystem.”
Arpit Ratan, Co-founder and Business Head, Signzy said, “The idea behind the Fintech Premier League was always simple: bring people from the fintech ecosystem together and let cricket do the rest. The first season showed us that there was genuine interest in the format, and Season 2 is significantly larger, with 38 teams across three cities. It is good to see people who usually meet across boardrooms and business meetings now competing against each other on the cricket field.”
The tournament is being conducted in three stages: the Regional League Phase, the Regional Knockout Phase and the National Championship. Regional matches are taking place across the West, North and South zones, with the winning teams advancing to the National Championship in Mumbai on October 31, 2026.
