The new facility at the TANSIDCO Industrial Estate will support scaled manufacturing of two key products–Trunome GrafAssure and TBFYND.
Acrannolife Genomics, a Chennai-based biotech startup, has secured financial support from the Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, to establish a manufacturing facility for advanced IVD diagnostic kits at the TANSIDCO Industrial Estate.
Founded in 2018, Acrannolife Genomics focuses on non-invasive diagnostic solutions using cell-free DNA and LAMP-based platforms. These technologies are increasingly gaining traction globally for their ability to deliver rapid, sensitive, and minimally invasive testing, especially in infectious diseases and transplant monitoring.
The new facility at the TANSIDCO Industrial Estate will support scaled manufacturing of two key products–Trunome GrafAssure and TBFYND. Trunome GrafAssure is designed as a blood-based test for early identification of organ rejection and infections in transplant patients, enabling clinicians to intervene before symptoms become clinically evident.
TBFYND, on the other hand, targets tuberculosis detection, addressing one of India’s most pressing public health challenges with faster and more accurate diagnostic capability.
Both products have been developed in-house and are supported by proprietary software platforms, ensuring consistency, scalability, and integration into modern diagnostic workflows.
The initiative is also aligned with India’s broader push toward self-reliance in critical healthcare technologies, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted gaps in domestic manufacturing capacity.
Speaking on the development, Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary, TDB, stated that the Board remains committed to supporting indigenous biotechnological innovations that translate cutting-edge research into affordable and accessible healthcare solutions.
He noted that the establishment of advanced manufacturing capabilities for diagnostic technologies will play a vital role in strengthening India’s healthcare ecosystem and promoting self-reliance in critical medical technologies.
Promoters of Acrannolife Genomics expressed appreciation for the support extended by TDB and highlighted that the assistance will enable the company to scale up production, accelerate deployment of its diagnostic kits, and expand access to innovative genomic diagnostics for patients and healthcare providers.
