GS Group said Thursday it held a tech collaboration event with AI startups at GS Tower in Gangnam, Seoul, as it looks to accelerate digital transformation and expand into emerging technologies.
Chairman Huh Tae-soo and senior executives were joined by CEOs and business heads from 17 portfolio companies, who showcased their core technologies.
The startups were sourced through GS Group’s venture arms, GS Futures and GS Ventures. The lineup included 11 companies backed by GS Futures — such as AMESA, Graphon AI and Articul8 — and six from GS Ventures, including Trillion Labs, SDT and Aidin Robotics.
Centered on “physical AI” and digital transformation, the event brought together startups from North America and Korea to exchange ideas and explore collaboration within GS Group’s business ecosystem.
The program began with startup presentations, followed by a fireside chat with executives of GS affiliates. Discussions focused on deploying robotics and hardware technologies in real-world operations and integrating AI capabilities into GS Group’s infrastructure.
Building on the event, GS Group said it plans to steer its investment portfolio toward physical AI and robotics in line with its broader digital transformation strategy. By securing promising technologies early and applying them on-site, the group aims to gain an edge in future industries.
“Startups are tackling challenges that existing businesses have yet to solve, creating opportunities for new ventures,” Huh said.
“By leveraging investments and partnerships with startups, GS Group aims to lead new business development.”
