Pune is one of India’s fastest-growing SaaS hubs, backed by a strong technology talent pool, academic institutions and a mature IT-services ecosystem. The city is home to ventures building enterprise automation, HR tech, fintech, cybersecurity and analytics products for both Indian and global markets, and its lower operating costs than the metros give early-stage founders room to build and scale product teams efficiently.
India’s SaaS sector is forecast to reach $50 Bn to $70 Bn in annual revenue by 2030, up from roughly $14 Bn today, according to Inc42’s SaaS ecosystem report. Horizontal SaaS is expected to climb from $9 Bn to $44 Bn over that window, while vertical, industry-specific SaaS is projected to grow from $5 Bn to $26 Bn. Funding has followed the growth curve. SaaS startups raised about $2.1 Bn in 2024, a 31% year-on-year rise, within roughly $1.8 Bn deployed across the wider enterprise tech sector, as buyers shifted spend toward AI-enabled software.
Pune’s SaaS bench runs deep, and its leaders are all SaaS unicorns. Contract-management firm Icertis has raised $566 Mn and crossed a $1 Bn valuation to join the unicorn club with a $115 Mn round. Data-protection company Druva has raised $475 Mn, and sales-enablement platform Mindtickle has raised about $281.3 Mn. Together they give the city a rare cluster of enterprise-grade software companies selling largely to global markets. The companies below are ranked by total capital raised.
