A workshop focused on the future prospects and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in professional sectors was held at the University of Dhaka on May 8, bringing together students, professionals, entrepreneurs and academics to discuss the growing role of AI in workplaces and governance.
The programme, titled “AI for Professionals: Future Prospects and Challenges”, was jointly organised by Bizz Solutions PLC and Chartered Technical Training Institute at the Professor Dr. Abdullah Faruk Multipurpose Hall of the university.
The keynote address was delivered by Md. Shafiqul Alam, a fellow chartered accountant, cost and management accountant, and chartered secretary. “AI should become a mirror of human intelligence, not a substitute for human wisdom,” he said while discussing the increasing use of AI across industries.
The workshop additionally explored concerns surrounding the rapid adoption of AI technologies, including cybersecurity threats, misinformation, algorithmic bias, deepfake technology and the possible effects of automation on employment opportunities, states the press release.
