AI and coding education startup HorangEdu and the National Institute of Ecology are collaborating to establish an ‘ecological convergence coding and AI education model’ that combines ecological education with digital technology. The two organizations announced on the 22nd that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development and dissemination of convergence educational content that integrates ecological education with AI and coding education.
Horang Edu and the National Institute of Ecology have been jointly developing educational content that combines ecology education and coding since 2025 by combining the National Institute of Ecology’s ecological knowledge infrastructure with Horang Edu’s Hangeul coding AI education platform technology. This agreement was pursued to further systematize the convergence of ecology education with AI and coding education, based on their past collaborative experience.
Under this agreement, the two organizations plan to cooperate in various fields, including the development of eco-convergence coding and AI curricula, activation of digital eco-education platforms, operation of joint online and offline programs, joint promotion of digital education projects, support for ecological resources and software licenses, and joint marketing.

Exploring ecological problems with data and algorithms
Both institutions plan to focus on expanding educational environments where students can explore various ecological issues, such as biodiversity, climate change, and ecosystem conservation, based on data and algorithms.
In particular, the plan is to integrate coding and artificial intelligence technologies into ecological education content to build a problem-solving convergence education model that goes beyond simple theory-centered education.
The National Institute of Ecology is a specialized ecological institution that conducts ecological research, exhibitions, and education, and operates educational programs for ecosystem conservation and the dissemination of ecological values.
Yoo Do-hee, CEO of Horang Edu, said, “By combining the National Institute of Ecology’s expertise in ecological education with Horang Edu’s Hangeul coding AI education technology, we have created a new educational model that allows students to understand both ecology and technology together,” adding, “We will actively expand educational content and programs that can foster both ecological sensitivity and computational thinking skills.”
Meanwhile, Horang Edu operates ‘Horang,’ an AI and coding education service based on the Korean programming language, and is focusing on building an educational environment where youth can learn coding and artificial intelligence without language barriers.
