The Indian startup ecosystem had a robust week, raising more than $350 million between June 12 and June 18, driven by funding rounds in AI, consumer health, and recycling startups.

According to Tracxn data, total funding surged about 114% from $141.3 million raised in the previous week, indicating that investor appetite remains strong and early-stage momentum is gathering pace rather than cooling off.

The bulk of the capital was concentrated in early-stage startups, which accounted for $279.6 million of the week’s total funding. The segment was propelled by large rounds such as Sarvam’s $234 million raise and Equal’s $30 million funding round.
Seed-stage startups secured a relatively steady $22.8 million during the period, while late-stage funding activity remained muted, resulting in a temporary slowdown in growth-stage dealmaking.

Which sector led the funding rounds, and what key trends emerged?
Manas Pal, Co-Founder, PedalStart said that the technology sector dominated startup funding activity during the week, buoyed by sustained investor interest in artificial intelligence, deep-tech and enterprise software.

He added, “The week reflected a trend we have been observing for some time now: investors are becoming far more selective, but they haven’t stopped investing.”

The week’s funding landscape was led by Sarvam’s $234 million Series B round, however, extended well beyond AI. Significant funding rounds were also recorded across governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software, marine robotics, solar rooftop, consumer health and biotechnology.

Neha Singh, Co-founder, Tracxn, said, “These transactions suggest that investors are increasingly prioritizing domain-specific and application-driven innovation over broad, horizontal technology propositions.”

She added that the continued participation of active investors such as Accel and Rainmatter across sectors including robotics, healthcare, and sustainability further reinforces this trend.
