Amsterdam's preventive HealthTech Blue Health Intelligence raises €3.4 million to expand across Europe | EU-Startups

Blue Health Intelligence, an Amsterdam-based preventive health care startup, has secured €3.4 million in funding for international expansion and further product development.

The round was led by Knop Investments, with participation from entrepreneurs such as Jeroen Tas, former Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer at Philips, and Dutch lifestyle influencer Anna Nooshin.

“In countries such as Japan, Germany and the UK, periodic health checks are already embedded in the healthcare system, but unfortunately that is not yet the case in the Netherlands. By gaining earlier insight into their health, people can stay healthy for longer and health issues can be prevented. With our affordable health checkup, we aim to make prevention more accessible to many people,” said Onno Huyghe, CEO and co-founder of Blue Health Intelligence.

Blue Health Intelligence was founded in 2025 by former Swapfiets and Tibber CCO Onno Huyghe and physician and healthcare entrepreneur Leanne Verdonck. The company is a provider of affordable health checks and claims to have developed its own 360-degree health check that gives people insight into their health in just one hour for €299.

According to the company, during the appointment, hundreds of data points are used to assess areas such as cardiovascular health, metabolism, and liver and kidney function. The results are discussed with a doctor immediately afterwards and uploaded to the Blue app. The company’s medical staff and doctors conduct all tests on-site and interpret the results.

Blue Health Intelligence reported that since its launch, more than 2,000 people have booked an in-person health check at its location on Amsterdam’s Prinsengracht.

Alongside strong growth in the Netherlands, Blue Health Intelligence is now also looking to expand internationally. “Italy and France are the most attractive markets for us, although finding the right location can still be something of a puzzle. Our own research shows that Paris and Milan offer at least as much potential as Amsterdam. We expect to launch in one of those two cities during the first half of 2027. This will bring us another step closer to our ambition of becoming Europe’s leading preventive health platform,” added Huyghe.

It currently works with partners including TrainMore, Hotel & Wellness Zuiver and Fosbury & Sons Amsterdam. The new funding follows an earlier investment round in which the Dutch startup raised more than €1.1 million.

Maurits Koning, Managing Director at Knop Investments, said, “Over the past year, Blue Health Intelligence has demonstrated that there is a demand for insight into one’s personal health. More than 2,000 people have now booked a health check, and the Amsterdam location is fully booked through November. With this investment, we want to give Leanne, Onno and the team the opportunity to further develop their products and enter new markets together.”
