Indian healthtech startups raised over $700 Mn across 78+ deals in 2024, per Inc42, holding steady as one of the country’s most resilient sectors. Hyderabad is a growing contributor to that pool.

The city’s wider momentum is clear: Hyderabad startups raised over $226 Mn in H1 2026, up 45% YoY, with deals up 83% to 22. In healthtech specifically, national funding held near $700 Mn in 2025 even as deal count fell to 54, concentrating capital in fewer, larger rounds.

Hyderabad’s most funded healthtech name is StanPlus, the emergency medical-response and ambulance-network startup, which has raised about $62.7 Mn to build end-to-end ambulance services across cities. At-home fitness and wellness startup Portl, which combines connected devices with AI-led health tracking, has raised about $3 Mn from Bharat Innovation Fund, Kalaari Capital and T-Hub, and gained visibility after appearing on Shark Tank India. Diagnostics and remote-monitoring player Startoon Labs, which builds non-invasive point-of-care devices, is smaller but scaling fast, with FY25 revenue up more than 230% year on year.

The city’s healthtech base draws on strong institutional scaffolding. Hyderabad’s T-Hub, one of India’s largest startup incubators, and the state’s positioning of Telangana as a life-sciences and healthtech hub have channelled talent and early capital into the sector, while growth-stage funds such as the $300 Mn HealthKois vehicle are widening the pool of later-stage money available to healthtech founders nationally. That combination helps explain why the city can post an 83% jump in deal count even as national deal activity thins.

The result is a cohort that spans emergency response, connected wellness devices and diagnostics rather than clustering in a single subsegment, giving Hyderabad healthtech a broader base than its overall funding total might suggest. Telangana’s positioning of Hyderabad around its Genome Valley life-sciences cluster and the medical-devices ecosystem has given healthtech founders proximity to clinical talent, manufacturing and hospital partners, an advantage that pure software hubs cannot easily match. That grounding in devices and services, rather than only apps, is part of why the city’s leaders skew toward operationally intensive models such as ambulance networks and diagnostic hardware.
