Bengaluru-based healthcare AI startup Prodoc AI has raised an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round led by Dr A. Velumani Family Office. The round also saw participation from Dr Kunal Shet and Parth D. Bhasin, who are existing users of the platform.
Building an AI Layer Across Hospital Systems
Founded to address technology fragmentation in healthcare, Prodoc AI is developing a Patient Journey OS that connects multiple systems used by hospitals, including hospital information systems (HIS), electronic medical records (EMR), CRM, billing, telephony and diagnostic platforms.
Instead of requiring hospitals to replace their existing infrastructure, Prodoc AI creates an intelligence layer across these systems, allowing hospitals to connect patient information and coordinate workflows across different touchpoints.
AI-Powered Patient Journey Management
The platform supports workflows spanning patient acquisition, appointment conversion, OPD intelligence, care coordination, follow-ups, partner and referral management, Voice AI and hospital operations.
Prodoc AI currently operates across more than 100 hospitals, processes over one million patient engagements every month, and supports more than 50 software integrations.
The company is led by Co-Founder and CEO Asit Kumar Vidyarthi and Co-Founder and COO Raghuvamshi Thakur. Its leadership and advisory network also includes healthcare industry veterans such as Dr A. Velumani, former HCG CEO Raj Gore and former Columbia Asia Group CEO Dr Nandakumar Jairam.
Fresh Capital to Accelerate Agentic AI
Prodoc AI plans to deploy the fresh capital towards strengthening its Agentic AI capabilities, expanding system integrations and developing AI agents capable of supporting complex hospital workflows.
These applications will focus on areas such as patient engagement, care coordination, hospital operations and revenue processes.
According to Asit Kumar Vidyarthi, healthcare interactions often take place across multiple channels, including call centres, WhatsApp, OPD, diagnostics, pharmacy and follow-up teams. Prodoc AI aims to connect these interactions to provide hospitals with a unified view of the patient journey and enable more informed actions.
Dr Velumani Backs Healthcare-Focused AI
Commenting on the investment, Dr A. Velumani, Founder of Thyrocare, said that healthcare providers often face challenges in converting leads into revenue because potential patients can be lost during different stages of the process.
He said Prodoc AI’s focus on healthcare and AI-enabled workflows could help providers address lead conversion and customer acquisition challenges by automating and coordinating processes.
Dr Velumani Family Office’s investment adds an experienced healthcare industry perspective to Prodoc AI’s expansion as it builds its technology platform for hospitals.
Building the Intelligence Layer for Hospitals
Prodoc AI’s broader objective is to become an intelligence layer across the patient journey, connecting previously isolated systems and workflows without requiring hospitals to undertake large-scale technology replacements.
As hospitals increasingly adopt digital tools across patient engagement, clinical operations and revenue management, the startup is positioning AI as a coordination layer that can bring these systems together.
With its latest funding, Prodoc AI plans to expand its technology footprint and build AI agents capable of supporting increasingly complex healthcare workflows across India’s hospital ecosystem.
