Recognition for the digital transformation of analog special classes… Proves on-site needs with 238% Tumblbug funding
Social venture startup Peerin (Co-CEOs Yoonjo Kim and Youjeong Song) leading the digital transformation (DX) of special class operations announced on the 15th that it received the Excellence Award for Impact Business in the mock investment pitching category at the ‘2025 H2 IHEI FESTA’ held at Yonsei University’s Baekyang Nuri Grand Ballroom.

This event was organized to share the achievements of ‘Workstation,’ the flagship social innovation program of the Higher Education Innovation Institute. ‘Workstation’ is a social innovation co-curricular program that supports students in proactively solving social problems and creating sustainable change. Peerin has focused on delivering social value by taking part in the program for three consecutive sessions, with ‘Realizing Quality Education’—one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—as its core mission.
In its presentation that day, Peerin CEO Yoonjo Kim introduced the slogan, “Let special teachers’ desks be lighter, and make education for children with disabilities thicker.” By reducing the excessive administrative burden of special classes that had been run in an analog way, the company outlined a concrete vision to ensure real educational rights for students targeted by special education, drawing positive evaluations from the judges.
Peerin’s developed solution is also proving its effectiveness in actual education settings. In the Tumblbug crowdfunding campaign held last March, it gained support from 90 special teachers and reached 238% of its funding goal, concluding successfully. Teachers who experienced the service first-hand reported high satisfaction, noting that it is not simply a technology adoption but a dedicated solution that closely reflects on-site circumstances unique to special classes that had long been overlooked.
A Peerin representative explained that they are continuously upgrading individual features by reflecting active requests from field teachers. The company plans to take the lead in fundamentally eliminating the administrative burden that individual teachers had to carry by pursuing official rollouts by schools and education offices nationwide in the future.
Meanwhile, Peerin, an入住企业 (tenant company) in the Seoul Hongreung-Gangso Small and Medium Enterprise Special Zone, plans to respond proactively to demand for digital transformation in the special education sector and to accelerate the development of field-centered, innovative education solutions.
