Morelganj Hosts National Science and Startup Exhibition


A day-long National Science and Technology Fair and Intellectual Innovation Exhibition was held at the Morelganj Upazila Parishad premises in Bagerhat on Friday, June 12. Organized under the Ministry of Education’s Secondary Education Development Program (SEDP), the event featured startup science projects and innovation ideas aiming to foster technology-based education under the theme: “Intellect-Science-Innovation Country, Bangladesh First.”

Local Member of Parliament (MP) Principal Abdul Alim attended the exhibition as the chief guest. While inspecting the student stalls, he praised their creative talents and noted that the exhibition would inspire a stronger culture of science education across the country.


Presiding over the event, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Habibullah emphasized that technology and innovation are indispensable in the modern era. He highlighted the importance of creating a research-friendly environment in educational institutions through the joint efforts of teachers, guardians, and the administration to build a skilled, forward-thinking generation.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) Atish Sarkar, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Shahidul Islam, school heads, journalists, and local dignitaries were also present.

Students from various institutions showcased eco-friendly initiatives, modern agricultural models, and digital service-focused startup concepts. Organizers stated that the fair’s primary objective is to provide students with practical knowledge, boost creative problem-solving skills, and encourage future entrepreneurship beyond textbook learning.
