Indian Startup News on Instagram: “Unacademy co-founders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini are raising a Rs 700 crore venture capital fund, Longshot Capital, to back early-stage AI and deeptech startups, according to a report by The Economic Times. The fund, registered as a Category II alternative investment fund (AIF), has reportedly secured commitments of about Rs 250-300 crore, or roughly 36-43% of its target. It is aiming for a first close in January 2027, though the size and timeline could change as fundraising continues. The plan comes less than two months after upGrad completed its all-stock acquisition of Unacademy. The Bengaluru-based fund plans to back 25-28 startups at the seed and pre-Series A stages, according to the report. Initial cheques will range from $500,000 to $1.5 million, for a target ownership of 8-12% in each company. #bengaluru #edtech #unacademy #deeptech #upGrad #founders #startups #indianstartupnews”
