JJ&COMPANIES Closes Series A to Advance AI-Powered Maritime Decarbonization Technology – WOWTALE

JJ&COMPANIES, a South Korean deep tech startup specializing in offshore plant process control and AI-based sustainable maritime solutions, has completed a Series A funding round, bringing its total investment raised to over $1.96 million (KRW 3 billion).

The company was founded by engineers with more than a decade of experience at global offshore engineering firms, including Norwegian state-owned offshore plant engineering companies. It has since built a proprietary technology portfolio spanning integrated offshore plant control systems, LNG fuel gas supply control systems (FGSS), vision AI-based automatic fire detection systems, and underwater biological data analysis systems.

JJ&COMPANIES has been selected for five national government support programs: Scale-Up TIPS, the DIPS (Deep-tech Innovation Program for Startups) initiative, Post-TIPS, the Maritime and Fisheries Growth Booster, and the KEITI SME Commercialization Program — a track record that underscores its validated technical competitiveness.

At the center of its commercial lineup is J-IAS, an integrated control system for eco-friendly gas-fueled vessels. The product has been delivered under contract to more than 23 ships operated by shipowners based in South Korea, Greece, and Singapore. J-IAS has also obtained international classification society certifications from KR, DNV, and ABS, and meets IACS cybersecurity (E27) standards.

Looking beyond its current product lines, the company is pursuing entry into the U.S. shipbuilding industry through a local subsidiary established in Seattle, Washington, and is preparing to expand into sustainable marine fuel (SMF) production and supply.

“We are honored to receive the Next Innovator Award at NextRise,” said Jeonho Jeon, CEO of JJ&COMPANIES. “We will continue to grow into a globally competitive company in maritime decarbonization, expanding well beyond the domestic market.”
