Bengaluru-based AI healthtech startup August AI is reportedly in discussions to raise about $4 million from Peak XV Partners.
The latest development comes about 10 months after August AI raised $3 million in a seed funding round from Accel and Claypond Capital, the family office of Manipal Group chairman Ranjan Pai.
The startup has indicated that the capital will be leveraged to support its operations and product development.
The proposed transaction is currently under discussion, and the details, including the startup’s valuation and the participation of other investors, have not been disclosed yet.
Further, August AI founder Anuruddh Mishra or the investor has not publicly disclosed details about the proposed transaction.
Founded in 2022 by IIT-BHU alumnus Anuruddh Mishra, August AI operates an AI-powered health companion that supports users with medical needs before and after doctor consultations,
The platform aims to make health information more accessible and assist users in understanding symptoms, interpreting reports, and tracking recovery.
Additionally, it offers personalised health insights, nutrition guidance, and medication reminders.
The platform is available through its website, mobile application, and WhatsApp.
The platform supports queries in more than 30 languages, including Indian vernacular languages, to help reach a wider audience that often delays seeking medical assistance.
As per the startup, its platform is designed as a support tool that complements consultations with medical professionals rather than replace them.
Further, the Bengaluru-based startup uses Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI infrastructure to process health-related queries and cross-reference information from medical sources.
At the time of its previous funding round, the startup reported having more than 35 lakh active users, including over 1 lakh doctors.
