São Paulo – A Qatar-developed edtech accelerator program is accepting applications until Oct. 31 from companies worldwide interested in participating. The WISE EdTech Accelerator will select education technology startups for its 2026-2027 cohort, with activities beginning in January 2027, according to an announcement made on Monday (28), state news agency QNA reported. The 2025-2026 cohort comprised eight startups.
QNA said the program targets for-profit startups at the seed or pre-Series A funding stages. These companies must be beyond the minimum viable product (MVP) stage and have market-ready products that have generated commercial activity and user engagement. They must also demonstrate measurable educational impact.
The program has local and international tracks. Selected startups receive mentorship and guidance, business growth support, networking opportunities in education and innovation, and access to global investors. The local track provides additional support for companies seeking to establish a presence in Qatar, including connections with partners in the local ecosystem and access to available funding opportunities.
WISE Innovation Director Aurélio Amaral said edtech entrepreneurs are developing promising solutions to address current challenges in education. According to him, turning these solutions into sustainable businesses requires support that goes beyond developing a strong product. The program aims to help founders build companies capable of delivering tangible educational impact and prepare them for later stages of growth.
The program is promoted by the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), a global initiative of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF). WISE serves as a platform bringing together educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, governments and organizations to discuss education challenges and support innovative solutions. QF is a nonprofit organization that brings together centers and programs focused on education, research and innovation, and community development.
