The initiative, KUMIHIMO Tech Camp Singapore, has been launched by Murata Electronics Singapore in partnership with Southeast Asian open innovation platform Tribe. The programme will run through 2026 and focus on developing purpose-built healthcare technologies for the region.
According to the organisers, ASEAN and India together represent more than two billion people and face a diverse range of healthcare challenges, including ageing populations, the rising burden of chronic diseases, and gaps in maternal and child healthcare.
Selected teams will participate in a structured programme offering technical onboarding, mentorship, and direct engagement with Murata’s engineering and business development teams to accelerate the development and commercialisation of healthcare innovations.
The organisers said the initiative aims to foster locally relevant technologies capable of addressing the unique needs of healthcare systems across the region while strengthening collaboration between innovators and industry.
