The Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy Innovation and Gyeongnam Technopark are stepping up to strengthen the region’s AI startup ecosystem by establishing a cooperative framework that connects employment and entrepreneurship for local talents who have received AI training. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for “Fostering AI-based Talent for Employment and Entrepreneurship and Revitalizing the Startup Ecosystem” and will begin providing full-scale support for employment and entrepreneurship linkages to trainees of the AI innovation education program “Codyssey.”
This agreement was pursued to establish a support system that leads to actual employment and entrepreneurship after the training, considering the high proportion of job seekers and prospective entrepreneurs among Codisay trainees. Codisay is a Korean-style AI and SW innovation education platform established by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP) to foster practical AI and software talents who will lead digital innovation across industries. Currently, based on this platform, Gyeongnam Technopark is operating a five-month ‘AI Native Course’ and focusing on training agentic AI engineers to lead the AI transformation of the manufacturing industry.

Expansion of AI Talent Development… Recruitment for New Courses in September
Under the agreement, the Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy Innovation will support the employment and entrepreneurship of Codisay trainees by utilizing its specialized startup support infrastructure. Both organizations plan to jointly operate various initiatives, including startup education and expert mentoring, linking startup support projects and acceleration programs, discovering AI-based startup ideas, fostering outstanding startup teams, and organizing employment and startup events, seminars, and networking programs. Through these efforts, it is expected that trainees equipped with AI technical capabilities will also acquire commercialization skills and grow into key talents who will lead the digital transformation of Gyeongnam’s manufacturing industry and the physical AI industry.
Gyeongnam Technopark is recruiting 150 trainees for its 18-month ‘AI All-in-One Course’ starting this September. The course aims to foster agentic AI engineers and is scheduled to be operated at the Gyeongnam Innovation Academy, currently under construction at Gyeongnam University, starting in late October.
Kim Jeong-hwan, President of Gyeongnam Technopark, said, “This agreement will serve as a stepping stone for trainees to grow into key talents who will lead Gyeongnam’s physical AI transformation,” adding, “We will also actively support their entrepreneurial endeavors.”
Noh Chung-sik, CEO of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, stated, “We will cooperate closely to revitalize Gyeongnam’s AI-based startup ecosystem and continuously produce innovative startups that will lead the physical AI transformation of local industries.”
