Indian edtech funding fell 56% to $249 Mn in 2025, an eight-year low, down from $568 Mn in 2024, but Delhi NCR still ranks third among edtech hubs, having drawn over $1.1 Bn between 2014 and 2024. The region also held overall startup funding steady at $2.2 Bn in 2025.
PhysicsWallah leads the cluster, with $486 Mn raised, a $2.8 Bn valuation at its 2024 round, and a listing that made it one of the sector’s marquee IPO stories. Classplus, the SaaS-to-test-prep platform, adds $158.32 Mn across 9 rounds at a valuation near $600 Mn.
Gurugram’s Adda247 broadens the base further, having raised roughly $67 Mn in total, including a $35 Mn round led by WestBridge Capital that added Google to its cap table. The government-exam specialist has since acquired StudyIQ and PrepInsta to widen its UPSC and placement offerings, a consolidation play that has become common as capital has tightened.
Career and skilling models add further depth. Sunstone, the Gurugram-based higher-education platform, has raised more than $168 Mn to run managed degree and MBA programmes across partner campuses, extending the region’s reach beyond school and test prep into employability-linked education. The national pullback has been sharp, but exam prep, upskilling and study-abroad have held up better than the K-12 tuition models that drove the 2021 boom, a mix that favours Delhi NCR.
Between them these companies cover exam prep, creator-led coaching, managed degrees and B2B tooling, the segments still attracting cheques in a lean year. PhysicsWallah, headquartered in Noida, turned profitable on revenue of INR 2,015 Cr in FY24 before its public listing, a reminder of the scale the region’s leaders now operate at. That listing, one of the first by a profitable Indian edtech, handed the region a public-market benchmark the rest of the sector now measures itself against. Delhi NCR is also India’s most valuable startup region, home to 41 unicorns, which keeps late-stage capital within reach for its edtech founders even through the downturn.
This ranking covers the 30 most-funded edtech companies in Delhi NCR, ordered by capital raised.
