EXCLUSIVE: Switzerland's Aeon acquires Aware Health as total Seed funding surpasses €12 million | EU-Startups

EU-Startups has learned that Aeon, a Zurich-based preventive healthcare company innovating AI-powered whole-body health check-ups, has closed its Seed extension and acquired German blood diagnostics platform Aware Health.

The extension brings Aeon’s total Seed funding to over €12 million ($14 million), building on the back of its €8.2 million Seed funding raised in June 2025.

The round was co-led by Araya Ventures with participation from existing investors Concentric, GoHub Ventures, Kadmos Capital, Calm/Storm Ventures, N&V Capital, and Bigwave Capital.

We are redefining preventive care by shifting it from reaction to action,” sasys Tim Seithe, founder and CEO of Aeon. “Imaging tells you where you are. Blood diagnostics tell you where you are heading. AI is what connects the two into prediction. The acquisition of Aware Health accelerates that vision by two years, and this round gives us everything we need to execute.”

Today’s news comes amid continued investment into European preventive healthcare, AI-enabled diagnostics and longitudinal health monitoring in 2026.

EU-Startups has reported approximately €667 million across relevant and adjacent rounds this year, although €612.7 million of that total came from Neko Health’s Series C; excluding that round, the rounds amount to roughly €55 million.

Among the closest comparisons are fellow Zurich-based Ahead Health, which raised €5.1 million in January and a further €8.7 million in July to expand a preventive-health platform combining blood testing, whole-body MRI and AI, and Paris-based Lucis, which secured €17.1 million for its AI-supported blood biomarker and personalised preventive-health platform.

Other adjacent 2026 rounds include €2.8 million for Swiss diagnostics startup Moonlight AI, €5 million for En Carta Diagnostics and €15 million for molecular diagnostics company iPremom.

Aeon is building something genuinely new in European healthcare,” adds Rupa Popat, Founding and Managing Partner at Araya Ventures. “The combination of imaging, recurring blood diagnostics, and AI creates a longitudinal health picture that no other platform in Europe offers. We are proud to back Tim and the team at this moment.”

Founded in 2023, Aeon (aeon.life) is a preventive healthcare company whose AI-powered platform combines whole-body MRI, capable of detecting over 500 possible anomalies across the brain, organs, and vessels, with blood diagnostics covering more than 100 biomarkers and analysis of genetic risks.

With today’s acquisition, Aeon is now reportedly the first European platform to offer a continuous, longitudinal health picture, combining whole-body imaging with recurring blood diagnostics in a single product, with AI turning that data into personalised risk prediction.

The company explains that whole-body MRI is a powerful but episodic tool, blood testing on the other hand is recurring. By combining both, Aeon looks to create something new in Europe: a continuous, longitudinal health record per customer, updated quarter after quarter.

While single measurements show a snapshot, longitudinal multimodal data lets Aeon’s AI models detect trends, flag deviations early, and predict individual health risks before they become disease. According to them, more than 90% of Aeon check-ups already surface findings customers can act on, with a significant finding rate of 15.4%.

Aeon looks to compliment their current offering with Aware Health, a consumer blood diagnostics platform that combines a fully regulated diagnostics stack with live laboratory integrations and a network of more than 45 blood-draw locations. The platform offered 100+ biomarkers across a wide range of preventive health test panels and served close to 10,000 active customers.

Aeon acquired the full technology platform, key contracts and equipment, the customer relationships, and the core team. The Berlin team continues under the Aeon brand without interruption.

For Aeon’s AI roadmap, the acquisition adds a critical asset: a longitudinal biomarker dataset built from recurring testing, the raw material for training predictive health models.

The company also explains that customer data will only be transferred with each customer’s explicit individual consent and in accordance with GDPR.

What I am most proud of is what our team built at Aware: a trusted consumer health brand and a platform that made advanced diagnostics accessible and easy to understand,” says Ferdinand Schmidt-Thomé, co-founder of Aware Health. “The acquisition gives what we built the opportunity to continue growing as part of a broader preventive-health offering. The combination with whole-body imaging and Aeon’s AI genuinely changes what preventive health looks like in Europe.

Aeon has been live in Germany since early 2026, and Germany is already its fastest-growing market. The acquisition adds what would have taken years to build: a regulated diagnostics stack, live laboratory integration, a nationwide draw-location network, and an established base of customers in Europe’s largest healthcare economy.

Alongside the acquisition, Pablo Tano joins as AI Lead, heading the development of the platform’s intelligence layer: AI models that read across imaging, blood biomarkers, and genetic data to deliver personalised risk prediction and individually tailored health interventions for their customers.

Combined with the Seed extension, Aeon enters this next phase funded, integrated, and with the goal of consolidating the preventive health category across Europe.
