The investment amount was not disclosed. With the funding, MixRoom plans to advance its AI music production technology, officially launch its professional music production software and expand into domestic and overseas markets.

MixRoom is developing a professional digital audio workstation (DAW) that combines AI with cloud-based collaboration. Users can continue a project across mobile, tablet and desktop devices. The platform is designed as a music production environment where multiple musicians and producers can work together on everything from recording and editing to mixing and mastering. Instead of exchanging individual files, users work in shared cloud-based projects, so they can review progress and feedback together regardless of device or location.

Its core feature, “AI Co-Producer,” carries out users’ natural-language requests as actual editing, mixing and mastering tasks. Unlike generative AI that creates music on its own, it understands music that musicians have made themselves and their creative intent, and supports the production process. Users can add their own musical judgment to the work the AI performs, and revise or supplement it. MixRoom’s main point of differentiation is that it achieves a high level of technical automation while preserving artists’ creativity, originality and artistic quality.

MixRoom is also developing AI-based mixing and mastering models that learn from the workflows and judgment of professional producers and engineers. The company says it is focused on reducing the burden of repetitive work and complex tool use while maintaining professional production quality. It also plans to clarify the sources of training data and obtain consent for its use, and to pursue a structure that shares outcomes with data providers, with the aim of building a foundation in which artists and technology grow together.

MixRoom plans to test its product in real music production and at song camps through its own studio and its label, 50- Records, and to reflect field feedback in its technology development. Drawing on the production experience of professional producers and engineers, it plans to improve the quality of its AI while expanding cooperation with studios, entertainment companies and educational institutions.

An MYSC official, who led the investment, evaluated the company: “MixRoom has differentiated competitiveness in that, as interest in K-content, including K-POP, grows, it broadens access to content creation through AI while enhancing artists’ originality and judgment. For this reason, it is expected to attract even more attention not only in Korea but also overseas.”

Hansol Son, CEO of MixRoom, said: “This investment is the first step toward transforming the conventional music production methods that have continued for nearly 30 years. Rather than an AI that generates music for people, we want to create a music production environment where artists can coexist with AI that understands their intentions and expands their capabilities.” He added: “We want to give professionals tools that let them focus more on music, and give anyone who loves music the joy of creating it themselves. We will grow into a next-generation DAW that combines expertise and accessibility, so that music production can become everyone’s hobby, just as playing an instrument or taking photos is.”
