CureMeAbroad will use the funding to expand its accredited hospital network, enter additional patient source markets, and strengthen its AI-powered technology.
Pune-based health tech startup CureMeAbroad has raised $1.1 million in a Pre-Seed Round led by healthcare-focused venture capital firm SteerX Ventures, with existing investor AIRA also participating.
The $1.1 Mn Pre-Seed Round follows a $600,000 funding round raised in April from Roman Saini, Himanshu Ratnoo, Kunal Gupta, Devaiah Bopanna, Vikrant Potnis and AIRA.
CureMeAbroad, founded in June 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, operates a healthcare technology platform for patients seeking treatment outside their home countries.
The startup helps users discover and compare hospitals, verify providers, obtain treatment estimates, and book medical care across international destinations.
The startup currently attracts more than 22,500 visitors each month and has established a hospital network across six countries. Its platform verifies healthcare providers against JCI or equivalent national accreditation standards and provides patients with treatment information and estimated costs before they proceed with care.
CureMeAbroad will use the latest funding to expand its accredited hospital network, enter additional patient source markets, and strengthen its AI-powered technology.
The company also plans to increase its operations and technology teams and broaden its treatment offerings to non-elective specialties, including orthopaedics and oncology.
Aditya Oza, Co-Founder and CEO, CureMeAbroad, said the company selected SteerX Ventures based on its understanding of the healthcare travel sector and its approach to building accountability into the platform.
Lalit Singla, Founder and CEO of SteerX Ventures, said rising healthcare costs and long waiting periods were encouraging patients in markets such as the US, Europe and Australia to explore treatment options abroad. He added that CureMeAbroad was developing technology and infrastructure to support patients through the cross-border healthcare process.
The startup’s key source markets include the US, UK, Australia and Canada. CureMeAbroad is targeting $100 Mn in annual patient treatment bookings by FY2028, compared with its current run rate of $4.8 Mn.
The company also plans to explore physical experience centres in selected international markets.
Its medical travel network spans more than 400 accredited hospitals across six countries, according to Global Healthcare Accreditation, which has certified CureMeAbroad as a Medical Travel Facilitator.
