Johnson & Johnson has secured naming rights for a new 30,000-square-foot science incubator planned at the New Jersey Innovation Hub, part of the HELIX development in New Brunswick.
The company will anchor the Johnson & Johnson Exchange, a central convening space designed to support early-stage, science-driven health care startups. The facility is expected to open in spring 2026.
The incubator will offer flexible lab space, programming and access to Portal Innovations’ network of investors and industry partners, with a focus on helping startups move ideas from research to patient care.
The project is part of a collaboration among Johnson & Johnson, Portal Innovations and the New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO), tied to the broader HELIX innovation district.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill said in a news release the investment aligns with the state’s effort to attract startups and expand the life sciences sector, citing job creation and economic growth in the region.

The Johnson & Johnson Exchange is expected to host events, founder programming and investor discussions while also supporting innovation initiatives at the hub, according to the release.
