What’s the deal? ENG, the largest building information modelling (BIM) service and virtual design and construction (VDC) provider in the US, has acquired e-verse, a Miami-based construction technology startup that builds AI software for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: Founded in 2007 and based in Newport Beach, California, ENG has completed more than 7,600 projects with a team of 800 VDC experts. Founded in 2021, e-verse pairs architects, engineers, and software developers to build AI-powered scheduling, predictive analytics, computer vision, and custom Revit and Autodesk Platform Services integrations.
Why now? e-verse had served as a technology partner for ENG before the acquisition, giving both teams familiarity with each other’s people and platforms. ENG has also invested in AI to deliver more constructable models and faster project schedules.
What’s the endgame? The acquisition adds e-verse’s developers and data scientists to ENG, broadening its service range for customers on their own AI journeys. Both teams work on complex projects including data centres, healthcare facilities, and manufacturing plants.
“We’re excited to welcome Valentin Noves and the entire e-verse team to ENG,” said John Raos, president of ENG. He added that folding in e-verse’s AI and automation expertise lets ENG “accelerate what we already do best.”
The signal: The deal reflects how established construction services firms are absorbing specialist AI startups rather than building those capabilities from scratch — a bet that automation and predictive analytics will become table stakes in AEC work.
