Victory Life Bible Church International (VLBC) has provided business loans worth millions of naira to selected members under its entrepreneurship empowerment initiative.

The Lead Pastor of VLBC, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, said the programme was designed to promote financial independence and sustainable livelihoods by combining spiritual development with practical business support.

Achudume said the initiative was not simply about providing financial assistance but about helping members expand their businesses, increase their income and build more secure futures for their families.

He added that the impact could extend beyond the beneficiaries as business expansion could create increased economic activity and opportunities for others.

The pastor commended the church’s Entrepreneurship Support and Development Committee (ESDC) for implementing the initiative, noting that the church would continue to explore ways to help members turn their skills and business ideas into viable enterprises.

Speaking at the presentation, the Chairman of the ESDC and Chief Executive Officer of Pomegranate Nigeria Limited, Wole Elusakin, said previous beneficiaries had recorded encouraging results from the programme.

“Some of the people who previously benefited from this programme have invested the funds in their businesses and made significant progress. Some have fully paid back their loans, while others have grown their businesses to the extent that they no longer have the need to take additional loans,” he said.

Elusakin said the progress recorded by previous beneficiaries had created room for new entrepreneurs to benefit from the latest phase of the initiative.

He stressed that the financial support was a loan and not a grant, explaining that beneficiaries were expected to use the funds productively and repay them so that other members could also access the scheme.

“The funds are expected to be put to productive use, and the repayment is important because it allows other people to also benefit from the programme,” he said.

According to him, beneficiaries were assessed based on their business needs, the viability of their enterprises and their plans for using the funds to ensure that the support reached businesses with genuine needs and realistic growth prospects.

Elusakin encouraged members with viable businesses or business ideas to apply for the programme and clearly demonstrate how the funds would help develop their enterprises.

He said applications could be sent via email to [email protected] or submitted in hard copy at the church.

He also appreciated Achudume for supporting the entrepreneurship initiative and its continued implementation.
