  • The event showcased AI-powered education solutions as part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to empower startups and drive innovation across the education sector.

Saudi Arabia’s Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) has concluded its EdTech and Assessment Hackathon at the SME Support Center in Riyadh, in partnership with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), the National eLearning Center, and Tatweer Education Holding Company.

The initiative is part of Monsha’at’s strategy to empower entrepreneurs and SMEs to develop AI-driven educational solutions, enabling innovators to transform their ideas into commercially viable prototypes that address the evolving needs of the education sector.

The hackathon attracted 197 participants, including school and university students, educators, industry experts, entrepreneurs, and EdTech startups. A total of 35 projects competed across multiple tracks, including digital teaching assistants, assessment and analytics tools, school management solutions, language learning, accessibility technologies for people with disabilities, simulation-based learning, and smart proctoring.

During the closing ceremony, Monsha’at showcased several standout projects, including an integrated platform combining artificial intelligence and robotics to help visually impaired students engage independently with the learning process, as well as a platform that enables educators to create curriculum-aligned educational video games.

Other featured innovations included a platform offering more than 12,000 interactive lessons aligned with Saudi Arabia’s national curriculum, an AI-powered solution for grading exams and converting assessment data into actionable insights, and the first customizable Arabic-language Learning Management System (LMS) designed to support visually impaired students and learners with special educational needs while promoting inclusive education.

Through initiatives like the EdTech & Assessment Hackathon, Monsha’at continues to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s startup ecosystem by supporting technology entrepreneurs, accelerating innovation in the education sector, and encouraging investment in scalable digital solutions, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
