Sequoia backs Paris AI startup Dust with $40M to fix the enterprise AI productivity gap — TFN

Dust, a Paris-based AI startup, raised $40 million in a Series B round led by Abstract and Sequoia, with Snowflake and Datadog also investing. This brings its total funding to over $60 million.

The startup, founded in 2023 by Gabriel Hubert and Stanislas Polu, provides business teams across operations, sales, marketing, and support with a shared workspace where people and AI agents can collaborate on projects with the same context, notifications, and goals.

“What will transform the way we work isn’t the next best model or assistant. It’s going to be a completely new type of system that gives humans and agents shared, governed access to the same information and capabilities so that they become true collaborators, working with the same context, notifications, artefacts, and goals to compound organisational impact. This is what we call multiplayer AI, and this is what we’re building at Dust,” says Hubert.

The enterprise AI market is split into two main groups, but both have limitations. Foundation model workspaces and copilots, like Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini for Workspace, help individuals but do not share context. Enterprise search tools such as Glean can find information, but cannot take action.

According to Dust, neither approach solves the compounding problem, where individual AI improvements do not add up to real organisational intelligence.

Its platform connects to over 100 data sources and integrates with tools such as Slack, Salesforce, and Google Drive, enabling agents to use up-to-date company information.

Agents improve over time thanks to built-in memory and feedback loops grounded in real team workflows. For governance, Dust offers detailed permissions, cost and usage tracking, a full audit trail, and analytics for agents.

Dust now has 41,000 monthly active users in more than 3,000 organisations, has deployed 300,000 agents, and reported zero churn in 2025.

“Most enterprise AI today is single-player: one person, one prompt, no compounding. Dust is building a multiplayer system in which agents and humans share context and work together across the entire company. Zero churn and 70% weekly active usage tell you this isn’t experimental anymore. This is how enterprises will actually operate,” adds Konstantine Buhler, partner at Sequoia.

Dust has about 98 employees in Paris and San Francisco. The fresh investment will go toward three main goals: building agents that can learn and improve on their own, making it easier for people and agents to work together with equal access to shared projects and information, and improving governance systems for reliable enterprise operations.
